NEWTOWN return to the road tonight (Friday) with Bala Town their hosts.
The Robins have endured mixed fortunes in their past two games with a home win over Cardiff Metropolitan last Friday closely followed by Nathaniel MG Cup quarter-final heartache against St Mellons Sports on Tuesday.
Manager Chris Hughes said: “We deserved to beat Met, a side which represented Wales in Europe last summer.
“I felt we were excellent and controlled the game from start to finish. It was a deserved win.”
Hughes accepted his side almost threw it away in the dying stages.
“We were not troubled all game and one mistake almost cost us at the end but fortunately their shot hit the post.”
Newtown were dealt a blow with the dismissal of the inform Joe Kenton in their midweek cup defeat with the Robins forced to shuffle their pack ahead of their trip to Maes Tegid tonight.
