A TRIO of Hafren Dirt Bike Club stars will represent their club in the International Six Day Enduro (ISDE) later this year,

The Llanidloes club, formed in 1979 and run by volunteers, will be represented by Charlie Evans, Robert Jones and Ioan Jones in Portugal’s Algarve later this month.

The former duo have both represented Wales in the ISDE in the past while also riding for Great Britain.

The trio head out to Portugal for the prestigious event to compete in the club team award category and will look to bring home the silverware with no Welsh national team competing this year.

The International Six Days Enduro (ISDE), formerly known as the International Six Days Trial (ISDT), is the oldest off-road motorcycle event in the International Motorcycling Federation calendar.

The event involves six days of riding, covering three different routes with 10 demanding special tests over a total distance of 1500km in a supreme test of man and machine.

The 94th edition takes place on November 11-16 in Portimao.

In order for the team to get to the Algarve this November, the club has been working hard over the last seven months to gain sponsorship with the Llanidloes trio overwhelmed by the response from their community.

Sponsorship from RMGroup UK, Celtic Travel, Yamaha Offroad Experience, Bulk Automation, Sweet Lamb Adventure Rally Bike Academy, EnduroTyres.com, Freestyle Bikes, Oakwood Lodge Park, Dulson Training Ltd, Langford’s Welsh Sausage Company, Milwyn Jenkins and Jenkins Solicitors, David Jones Newtown Ltd, Kevin Jones Cars, Richard George and Jenkins Solicitors, Arthurs’ Vauxhall, Rees Agri Equipment, Stagecraft Display Ltd and PC-Q Solutions.

The team thanks their sponsors and also to everyone who has supported them with their various fundraising events whether this has been by donating raffle prizes and buying tickets, cake baking, playing bingo or buying the Hafren Dirt Bike Club ISDE Edition T-shirts.

The latest success represents the latest milestone for the club, now in its 40th year.

The club was formed in order to form a practice facility for the large numbers of riders who were into both enthusiasts of motocross and enduro in the area.

The club is ACU affiliated club within the Mid Wales Centre and made up of volunteer members.
