THE future of Maldwyn Harriers Athletics Club looks bright.
The club’s junior section held its presentation evening at Newtown Football Club last week when the stars of the past season were recognised.
Ollie Jones was named outstanding male athlete having represented Wales in road, cross country and mountain races this year while Maddie Griffiths claimed the outstanding female athlete award.
Welsh international Aled Breeze was named boys cross award winner with MacKenzie McCourt the girls cross country accolade winner.
Fellow Welsh international Callum Morgan won the junior coaches award while Ethan Horobin and Mya Bradley each went home with Primary school coaches awards.
Meanwhile Piper Lloyd was named clubperson of the year.
Carys Breeze and Arthur Powell’s achievements in 2019 earned them the respective track and field awards.
