CHAZ Davies bids to bring the curtain down on a frustrating World Superbike Championship (WSBK) campaign in Qatar this weekend.
The Presteigne star has endured a poor campaign by his own high standards and often been in the shadow of Ducati team-mate Alvaro Bautista with the Spaniard one of the revelations of the season.
However Davies has improved his fortunes in the second half of the season and enjoyed success at Losail in the past with two victories.
The 32 year old conceded his only priority was ending the season on a high.
Davies has compiled 249 points and goes into the championship finale in seventh position.
Davies said: “Hopefully we can go to Qatar and continue our momentum and finish the season strong.
“I’ve had a mixed bag in the past at Qatar, sometimes fantastic results but last year was a difficult one because I was riding with an injured shoulder.
“In any case, I’m looking forward to it, because it’s another different track with different characteristics and I think it’s a good chance for us to explore and set up the bike well.
“I enjoy the format in Qatar, lazy days and then action at night.
“It is a great way to finish the season.”
The action commenced on Thursday (today).
