Greenfield 3 Caersws 1
CAERSWS crashed out of the cup at Welsh Alliance One side Greenfield.
All the action came in the second-half with neither side able to impose themselves in a scoreless first-half.
The deadlock was broken shortly before the hour with Connor Hughes on target.
The inform hosts settled the tie with the inform Sam Jones netting twice to leave Caersws with a mountain to climb.
The Bluebirds looked to get back in the game and reduced the arrears with substitute Mak Edmonson on target.
However Caersws had left it too late and with the hosts shutting up shop their was no way back as Mark Griffiths’ men made the long trip home with their cup dreams over for another year.
Assistant manager Gareth Jones said: “It’s disappointing to go out of the cup but we are a team in transition and will learn from this for the future.”
CAERSWS: L Evans, Harries, W Evans, L Davies, RJ Davies, RL Davies, Rees, E Jones, Blake, Hyne, Harris. Subs: Edmonson, G Jones, Griffiths.
