Llanidloes Town 2
(Llanidloes win 4-3 on pens)
KRIS Williams starred as Llanidloes Town booked their place in the next round of the JD Welsh Cup with shoot-out glory at Trefelin.
The Daffodils goalkeeper made a string of saves during 120 minutes of thrilling cup action while also converting a penalty as the Daffodils prevailed in the shoot out.
The hosts led after nine minutes through Damon Thomas only for Llanidloes to reply within five minutes through Drew Reynolds.
The match continued to be evenly contested before the hosts regained their lead through Kane Devonald with 20 minutes remaining.
However Llanidloes were not to be denied with Jack Biggs’ equaliser forcing extra-time and penalties.
Referee Darren Hales dismissed Llanidloes manager Hugh Clarke for protesting a decision to twice allow Trefelin to re-take their final penalty but with both attempts missed the Mid Wales side celebrated their progress.
