Guilsfield 2 Brymbo 1
GUILSFIELD were made to toil before seeing off battling Wrexham Area League leaders Brymbo at Clos Mytton.
The Guils had to wait until the 21st minute for the breakthrough with Adam Davies dusting himself down to convert a penalty after being clattered in the area by goalkeeper Declan Morgan.
Guilsfield continued to dictate the tie and their pressure told just before the break with Callum Bromley heading home.
However with the hosts still celebrating their second goal the Wrexham side replied and reduced the arrears through Jamie Cumming just before the interval.
Guilsfield spurned a host of chances after the break and Brymbo remained in contention.
However with time running out Ben Kearney picked up two quickfire cautions to see red before being joined by protesting manager Phil Hudson as Guilsfield saw out the tie.
GUILSFIELD: Jones. Bromley, Cathrall, Ford, Litchfield, James, Cook (Parry 80), Harries, Davies (Clifton 63), Blenkinsop, Jenkins. Subs: Lloyd, Rogers, Leonard.
