TNS manager Scott Ruscoe praised top scorer Greg Draper ahead of Saturday’s trip to Penybont
The New Zealander scored four goal as TNS returned to winning ways with a 6-2 win over Airbus UK Broughton last weekend to close the gap on leaders Barry Town United.
“It was nice to get back to winning ways,” said Ruscoe.
“Greg scored four very good goals. His work-rate and his finishing is fantastic.
“No disrespect to Airbus at all, but we could have scored 10 but it was pleasing to see the chances being created more because obviously, we’ve failed to score in the two games leading up to this one.”
The victory means Saints move up to second in the table, behind Barry Town United who remain unbeaten.
Ruscoe maintained league positions did not concern him at this stage of the season.
“We’re in mid-October so it’s still early. We’ve only played 10 games, so I’m not too concerned that we’re not at the top of the table,” said Ruscoe.
“We really want to focus on getting a good run of form going and I’m more than confident the league position will look after itself.”
