MADDIE Griffiths claimed a sixth place finish at the British Cross Challenge Series opener in Cardiff.
The Welshpool High School and Maldwyn Harrier star ended sixth in a time of 12:14 in the girls under 15s class.
Oliver Jones of Newtown was the top Harrier home in the under 15s boys race in 10:49 with Aled Breeze 23rd in 11:13 and Callum Morgan in 29th in 11:45.
