HENRY Watkins’ last gasp screamer won the day as Newtown hit back to complete a 3-2 victory at home to Bow Street in the first round of the Welsh Youth Cup.

A Sion Evans double looked to have helped Street to complete a shock only for goals from Alex Morgan, Kai Evans and Watkins to ensure Town’s ticket for the second round.

Llanidloes Town also sealed their progress with goals from Mason Jones and Finn Gaca completing a 2-1 win.

Meanwhile Llanfair United’s first round tie at Newcastle Emlyn was postponed with the two sides set to meet on a new date.

Second round draw (Mid Wales clubs): Llandudno v Llanidloes Town; Newcastle Emlyn or Llanfair United v Mynydd Isa Spartans; TNS v Rhyl; Porthmadog v Newtown.
