Colwyn Bay 4
Guilsfield 1
GUILSFIELD’S first-half horror show on the coast was ruthlessly punished by Colwyn Bay.
Despite a bright start with both Callum Bromley and Adam Davies going close the hosts also threatened with Julian Williams testing Guils goalkeeper Mike Jones.
Bay seized the advantage on 28 minutes when Mitch Bryant seized upon Adam Jenkins’ back pass to slot home.
Ten minutes later the Guils’ were punished for another defensive lapse as Sion Edwards charged down an attempted clearance with Williams slotting home.
It was all but over on the stroke of half-time as Bryant completed his brace.
Guilsfield reduced the arrears with Jenkins’ deflected effort three minutes into the second-half and dominated the second-half.
Jenkins forced goalkeeper Andy Coughlin into action before Andy Ford headed over but Bay weathered the storm and settled the outcome at the death with Bryant completing his hat-trick after a defensive lapse from James Parry.
GUILSFIELD: M Jones, Bromley, Parry, Ford (Rogers 79), Litchfield, James, Cook, Harries, Davies, Cathrall, Jenkins (Clifton 87). Subs: Leonard, Richards.
