NEWTOWN maintained their strong start to the North Wales Women’s League One season with a resounding 3-0 win over Welshpool Town.
Town started brightly and led when ex-Welshpool player Jacqui Loxam broke the deadlock early on.
Heidi Langford doubled the tally midway through the first-half as Newtown continued to dominate the derby.
Sian Griffiths struck to complete the scoring in the second-half with Town handing youngster Aoife Matthews her senior debut.
Elsewhere Llanfair Caereinion opened their account for the season with a 2-0 win at Pwllheli courtesy of strikes from Angharad Davies and Ellen Jones.
Meanwhile Radnor opened their South Wales League One campaign with a resounding 3-0 victory at Bridgend.
The Goats’ player of the match Zoe Zembruski was joined on the scoresheet by Hayley Price and Lowri Morris.
