Caernarfon Town 1 TNS 0

TNS suffered their third successive defeat as Caernarfon Town maintained their surge up the table.

The Canaries have been among the form teams so far this season and started with intent as Nathan Craig lashed over inside the opening minute.

Craig fired a 25 yard free-kick wide five minutes later as TNS continued to struggle to get to grips with the hosts on their infamous sloped pitch.

Saints goalkeeper Paul Harrison fumbled Craig’s cross onto his own woodwork before TNS began to impose themselves with Kurtis Byrne testing ex-Saint goalkeeper Alex Ramsay.

Ramsay saved at the feet of Dean Ebbe while at the other end Harrison was tested by Jamie Breese as the match remained open

Caernarfon began the second-half with a flurry with Darren Thomas forcing the Saints to block his hatful of shots inside the opening few minutes.

TNS enjoyed their best spell of the game with Ryan Brobbel firing wide before Ebbe saw penalty appeals rejected after being clattered in the area by Ramsay.

Caernarfon stunned the Saints with 20 minutes remaining as Thomas released Danny Brookwell who squared for Breese to fire home and send the Oval wild.

Sensing defeat the saints made a flurry of late changes and almost saved face late on when Chris Marriott struck the woodwork while Brobbel forced Ramsay into action with an injury time free-kick.

However it was all in vain as Caernarfon held firm and pressure began to build on Saints manager Scott Ruscoe following the Oswestry club’s third loss in succession.

TNS: Harrison, Spender (Whitehouse 82), Marriott, Davies, Routledge, Ebbe (Draper 65), Brobbel, Cieslewicz, Hudson, Byrne, Harrington (Mullan 75).
