Conwy Borough 3
LLANFAIR United slipped to defeat at the hands of Conwy Borough as their testing start to the season continued.
United endured trailed when Corrig McGonigle raced onto a long ball to fire Conwy ahead early on.
Aron James tested Borough goalkeeper Ben Heald but Borough remained ahead at the break and doubled their lead early in the second-half with McGonigle steering home Sean McCaffrey's pass.
United replied on the hour with Paul Griffiths reducing the arrears before the hosts saw strong penalty appeals rejected after Ryan McVeagh was clattered in the area.
United tempers boiled over and Matt Bumford saw red and Borough capitalised with Liam Morris netting a late third while goalkeeper Mark Richards denied McGonigle his hat-trick from the penalty spot at the death.
