Barry Town Utd 1

TNS slipped further behind early season pacesetters Barry Town United who celebrated a shock win at Park Hall.

The Saints had overcome the early loss of Kane Lewis to injury and had been pressing only to be stunned as Evan Press spectacularly blasted home from the edge of the area to give Barry a 22nd minute lead.

Barry continued to take the game to the Saints who struggled to find their usual rhythm with the South Wales side galvanised.

Aeron Edwards' header smothered by goalkeeper George Ratcliffe while TNS came close at the end of the half only for Ryan Brobbel to be denied by a superb save from the Barry No1.

Press blasted over as Barry handed TNS an early reminder of their threat at the start of the second-half.

TNS began to impose themselves with Ratcliffe tested by Ryan Harrington before producing another stunning save to deny Jon Routledge on the hour.

Kayne McLaggon seized upon an error by Keston Davies only to fire wide as Barry went close to doubling their lead.

TNS laid siege to the Barry goal late on but a resolute defence denied the Saints to the last.
