Bangor City 1 TNS 1 (City won 4-2 on pens)
TNS crashed out of the Nathaniel MG Cup with a penalty shoot out defeat at Bangor City on Tuesday.
The sides scrapped out a first-half stalemate with Chris Marriott’s cross dipping onto the bar and Greg Draper fire wide for the Saints while City went close through Aldair Neto.
City’s enterprise was rewarded six minutes into the second-half with Simone Rea heading home.
TNS were largely stifled throughout the second-half but snatched a 77th minute equaliser with Kurtis Byrne levelling.
Five minutes from time Byrne forced City goalkeeper Gabriele Brino to tip his header over the bar as the tie went to penalties.
Brino starred in the shoot-out with saves to deny Draper and Marriott as TNS suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the JD Cymru North side.
TNS: Harrison, Marriott, Routledge, Draper, Cieslewicz, Hudson, Byrne, Lewis, Edwards, Harrington, Whitehouse. Subs: Dutton, Nevitt, Bradford, Short.
