GUILSFIELD bid to return to winning ways at Gresford Athletic on Saturday.
The Guils travel to Wrexham for the JD Cymru North clash before hosting JD Cymru Premier giants Connahs Quay Nomads in the third round of the Nathaniel MG Cup on Wednesday.
Director of football Nathan Leonard insisted the Guils were taking the season one game at a time.
“We know what to expect,” said Leonard. “Gresford are a tidy outfit but similar to us I suppose as you never know which one is going to turn up. If we execute our gameplan we have a good chance of the three points.”
Leonard conceded the Guils were massive underdogs ahead of Wednesday’s visit of Nomads.
“It’s a game we’ve been looking at for a few weeks now in terms of players fighting for places, thinking of our game plan and getting out and watching them,” said Leonard. “We will be huge underdogs and I don’t think there’s a tougher team to play on grass.
“They can play but can certainly mix it and deal with most things chucked at them. They have a strong squad, great management team and are unbeaten in the league after coming off a very good Europa league campaign.”
However Leonard insisted the Guils would go into the game with confidence having taken the Nomads into extra-time in last season’s Welsh Cup.
Leonard said: “The lads have been superb lately, training hard and enjoying their football.
“We surprised them last season so hopefully we again show what we are capable of and give them a tough game.”
