JAMES Breese struck a season’s best as Welshpool celebrated a 61 run victory over Shifnal IIIs.
Nick Davies led the Pool top order before falling to Neil Lorimer (3-42) for 32 while Dan Chodecki was snared LBW by Scott Idiens (2-31) for 35.
However Breese was not to be moved and a season’s best 73 helped Pool to 189-7 to defend.
Mat McWhinnie celebrated regular wickets in reply, including opener Mike Frost, caught by Russell Cadwallader for a top scoring 59.
Support from Robert Anderson (3-12) with Zac Vale caught by Chodecki for 20 and Paul Chapman (2-10) completed Shifnal’s demise for 128 in the 38th over.
