ALBERBURY’S first division status continues to hang on a wire following a seven wicket defeat at home to Shrewsbury IIIs.
Mark Jones (19) and Charles Bourne (10) top scored for Alberbury who were skittled for 74 by Bradley Thornton (6-30) and Patrick Jacob (2-17).
Despite the best efforts of Andy Holloway (3-13) in reply the visitors sealed victory inside 15 overs with Dan Manders (45) and Alex Walker (19) guiding the Shrews to 77-3.
Alberbury must beat Pontesbury this weekend to cement survival.
