Llanrhaeadr 1
Conwy Borough 2
LLANRHAEADR were brought down to earth as Conwy Borough left Tanllan with three points.
The villagers went into the game on a high but trailed within five minutes with Iolo Hughes gobbling up a loose ball after goalkeeper Jimmy Hayns parried his initial shot.
Llanrhaeadr came close to levelling five minutes later with Matt Evans forcing goalkeeper Ben Heald into action.
The villagers restored parity soon after with Matt Williams’ shot deflected beyond Heald.
An even half ended with Conwy back in control with Cory Williams pouncing from close range.
Llanrhaeadr started the second-half on top with Joe Vaughan and Iwan Matthews firing wide.
Gary Meredith saw penalty appeals rejected on the bar before the new signing headed a Tom Gale throw over the bar while in the last act of the game a surge upfield saw Llanrhaeadr almost snatch a point only for Matthews to drill wide.
