LUKE Francis starred with a hat-trick as Guilsfield Reserves strolled to a 7-1 win at Llanfyllin Town in Honda Division One of the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League.

Further goals from Paul Evans, Owen Rothwell, Dan Williams and Harry Garthwaite completed the drubbing with Andy Garmston netting a consolation.

Meanwhile Llanrhaeadr Reserves prevailed 3-1 winners at Trewern with goals from Lucas Gallagher, Adam Burgess and Carwyn Johnson cancelling a reply from Chris Lewis.

Llanymynech claimed the spoils with a 3-1 win at Welshpool Town Reserves in Mitsubishi Division Two.

Dan Astley struck twice with Gary Ray also netting to cancel Joe Cadwallader’s reply for the hosts.

Elsewhere Sam Williams’ hat-trick helped Caersws Reserves to a 7-1 win at home to Churchstoke Reserves with a James Coleman double and strikes from Keegan Bradley and Conrad Galloway completing the tally.

Llanfechain also tasted glory with goals from Rob Edwards, Rollo Allen and Mike Bebb completing a 3-0 win over Llanfyllin Town Reserves.

Elsewhere Newtown Wanderers eased to a 6-1 win over Kerry Reserves in the first round of the Boys and Boden Montgomeryshire League Cup.

Mike Whyte struck twice with Stafford Jones, Tom Burlinson, Nathan Hughes and Neil Lloyd-Jones cancelling a Jake Andrews consolation.

Phil Hughes’ four goal haul inspired Meifod to a 6-1 win at home to Four Crosses Reserves with Jac Edwards and Gwyn Davies goals completing the scoring while Jordan Emberton replied.

Meanwhile a Graham Dyke double earned Trefonen a 3-2 win at Llangedwyn in the first round of the Llansantffraid Village Cup.
