Cardiff Met 1 TNS 1

KESTON Davies snatched a point for TNS with a last gasp equaliser at Cardiff Metropolitan on Monday night.

TNS arrived in the capital bidding to avenge defeat in the corresponding fixture last season and a bright start included chances for Dean Ebbe and Aeron Edwards.

However the hosts led inside the opening five minutes with Elliot Evans steering home from close range.

The Saints struggled to find any momentum in reply though came close to levelling on half-time only for Ebbe to fire Kane Lewis' cross wide.

Met goalkeeper Alex Lang was called upon to deny Edwards at the start of the second-half.

TNS continued to press but Met remained a threat on the break as the match entered its final stages.

Met looked to have done enough to give the champions a bloody nose but TNS won a corner in the dying embers of injury time with Chris Marriott swinging a dangerous cross which Met failed to clear with Davies on hand to power home a close range header to save his side a point.

TNS: Harrison, Marriott, Davies, Routledge, Ebbe, Brobbel (Whitehouse 74), Cieslewicz, Hudson, Lewis (Byrne 63), Edwards, Harrington (Draper (46). Subs: Clark, Dutton.
