Llanymynech triathlete Deri McCluskey continues to enjoy a stellar season.
The 14 year old Llanfyllin High School student has been crowned Welsh Tristar 3 champion following a superb year competing in events across Wales with two gold medals, four silver and one bronze medal.
The series includes rounds in Machynlleth, Ruthin, Llanelli. Cardiff, Denbigh, Bala. Conwy, Pembroke, Tredegar and Aberystwyth.
McCluskey’s total of 4537 points ensured him the Welsh Tristar 3 crown, seeing off the challenge of Luke Wyatt and Finlay Catling to be crowned champion.
The teenager’s form also saw him represent Wales at the annual Inter Regional Championships.

McCluskey is a member of Welshpool Sharks Swimming Club and the Newtown based Maldwyn Harriers Athletics Club and Hafren Cycling Club.
