Llanfair United 0 Gresford Athletic 2

LLANFAIR United's testing start to life back in JD Cymru North continued with a midweek defeat against Gresford Athletic in Oswestry.

Karl Seliaerts steered Ryan McVeagh's cross over the bar while Jordan MacArter also spurned an opening after being released by Aaron Edwards for Gresford.

Alex Buxton also went close for the Wrexham side before MacArter opened the scoring with a close range finish following Joe Culshaw's 36th minute corner.

The second-half proved a tight affair as Llanfair pressed for a route back into the game.

However United were dealt a blow when Ben Jones earned a second caution and red card with 10 minutes remaining with Gresford capitalising by adding a second at the death through Edwards.
