Penrhyncoch 1 Guilsfield 3
GUILSFIELD maintained their bright form with victory at Penrhyncoch.
The Guils had already gone close with Adam Davies testing home goalkeeper Leigh Jenkins when Davies and Jake Cook linked to release Sam Litchfield to break the deadlock on 20 minutes.
Jenkins was again in action three minutes later to tip over a Cook rasper with the Penrhyn No1 also twice denying Davies at the end of the half to keep his side in the game.
Davies was not to be denied on the hour with a cool penalty finish after Chris Cathrall’s throw was handled by Jon Foligno in the home area.
It was all over eight minutes later with Davies releasing Cook to round Jenkins and slot into an empty net.
Penrhyncoch rallied and with 15 minutes remaining Jonny Evans capitalised on a rare lapse in the Guilsfield defence to race onto a Steff Davies flick on to reduce the arrears.
However it was too late to prevent Guilsfield celebrating another three points and leap above their hosts in the JD Cymru North table.
