ALBERBURY endured a miserable weekend with a 148 run defeat at home to Shelton.
James Bird (2-52) fed early, trapping Harry Jones LBW for 17 before Ben Matthews was caught by Mike Crawshaw for 29.
Lara Jones (1-42) maintained the pressure with the wicket of Sam Nicholls (5) before Keith Tate joined Sam Griffiths for the fourth wicket.
James Harrap (1-17) bowled Griffiths (40) before Sam Morris (1-54) and Andrew Holliway (2-41) made inroads into Shelton’s middle order leaving Tate (82no) and Matthew Morris (12no) to steer their side to 237-7.
Simon Jones (6-46) dominated in reply, catch and bowling Sam Morris for a top scoring 36 with Griffiths (3-33) claiming Harrap (12) to complete Alberbury’s demise for 89.
