MONTGOMERY crashed to a heavy nine wicket defeat at home to Wellington IIs in Henshalls Shropshire League Two.
Cameron Watson (3-28) had Monty on the ropes as Tim Davies (3), Andrew Barker (0) and Charlie Clinton (2) fell cheaply before Martin Weil ate into the home middle order.
Rob Bennett (6) and Tom Corfield (0) departed cheaply before Ieuan Griffiths fell for a defiant 22.
Rob Atherden (2-39) maintained pressure on the Monty order with Aaron Ruff-Cock falling for a top scoring 33 before Weill completed his 5-30 with the wicket of Alex Bromley (13) to leave the hosts defending 102.
Steve Lamb (58no) carried his bat in reply and despite Edward Bennett (1-20) toppling Patrick Howells (2) the visitors secured a comprehensive victory as Matthew Lamb (31no) helped form an unbroken second wicket stand to guide Wellington to 103-1 in the 33rd over.
