Guilsfield 6

Llanfair Utd 1

ADAM Davies struck a derby day hat-trick as Guilsfield hit Llanfair Unired for six at Clos Mytton.

The hosts enjoyed a dream start with Davies opening the scoring with a fourth minute header beyond United goalkeeper Mark Richards.

Guilsfield soon doubled their lead with Steve Blenkinsop pouncing with a close range headed effort six minutes later.

United rallied with Ben Jones denied by home goalkeeper Mike Jones before Stuart Rogers produced a superb block to deny Josh Astley.

The frantic opening spell culminated with a 40 yard lob from Andrew Hughes over a stranded Jones on 15 minutes.

However Guilsfield responded soon after with Blenkinsop steering home another close range finish before Robbie James scrambled home a fourth on 34 minutes

Guilsfield completed a dream half with a fifth six minutes later with Davies slotting home a penalty after Blenkinsop fouled in the area by Gethin Jones.

Llanfair were much improved after the break with Ryan McVeagh and substitute Ashley Davies testing Jones.

However Llanfaiir could made no inroads into the deficit and with nine minutes remaining Davies completed his hat-trick with a second penalty

The derby ended with a late altercation between Gethin Stephens and Blenkinsop following a rash challenge by the home striker with the United defender receiving his marching orders.
