WELSHPOOL breathed new life into their Henshalls Shropshire League Two survival bid with a resounding 129 run victory at home to Wroxeter.

Matt McWhinnie (4) and Paul Chapman (6) fell cheaply before surviving opener Nick Davies joined by Dan Chodecki in establishing a third wicket partnership.

Chodecki caught off Dan Harris (2-44) before Patrick Davies (5) despatched by Harry Slater who completed his 2-49 with the prize wicket of Nick Davies fora top scoring 69.

James Breese (32no) and Russell Cadwallader (19no) continued to work the scoreboard with an unbroken sixth wicket stand to steer Pool to 184-5.

Slater was caught by Chapman off Greg Jones for a duck as Pool celebrated a dream start to their reply.

Patrick Davies (2-17) made his presence felt with the early wickets of Richard Evason (11) before Jones caught Charlie Haylett off Davies for eight.

Wickets continued to tumble with Jones completing his 3-23 before McWhinnie (1-12) caught and bowled Ben Lewin for 13 and Rob Anderson (1-0) caught and bowled Mat Lewin for one to complete Wroxeter's skittling for 55 in the 20th over.
