JOE Beddoes’ hat-trick inspired Trewern to a 4-3 victory over Llanrhaeadr Reserves in the Mel Price Memorial Llanfechain Knock Out Final on Sunday.
Barry Haralambous completed the scoring while Mike Roberts, Liam Jones and Matt Evans replied.
Manager Nathan Jones said: “It is great for Trewern Football Club to win the knockout for the first time and even bigger an achievement after playing the Montgomeryshire League first division favourites the day before.”
Competition organiser Wyn Griffiths said: “Congratulations to Trewern on their success and thanks to all who contributed this summer.”
Meanwhile the Tigers have strengthened their squad with the signing of striker James Langford.
Langford has previous experience at Berriew, Montgomery Town and Guilsfield and arrives at Caradog Park to boost the Tigers bid for honours this season.
