WELSHPOOL continue to stare relegation in the face following an eight wicket defeat at St Georges IIs.
Matt McWhinnie (34), Paul Chapman (27) and Russell Cadwallader (14) defied Alex Johnson (2-15), Wasim Chohan (2-20), Haider Raza (2-33) and Matt Chesters (2-13) to help Pool to 131 to defend.
Ryan Forrester led St Georges reply with a half century before departing to Joe Cadwallader (1-34) while Dan Chodecki (1-36) trapped Emrys Hughes LBW for 25.
Mitchell Hoof (26no) and Sam Morgan (14no) combined for the third wicket to guide St Georges to 133-2 in the 19th over.
