MONTGOMERY endured a day to forget in a nine wicket thrashing at home to Shifnal IIIs in Henshalls Shropshire League Two.
The home side were left defending a meagre 95 with only Andrew Barker (12) and Rob Kinsey (13) posting double figures as Ben Humphreys (4-31) and Phil Aston (3-7) dominated.
Ben Aston (36no) carried his bat in reply with Dave Street pushing the visitors to within sight of glory before being caught by Rob Bennett off Barker (1-11) for 22.
Shifnal were not to be denied with Aston joined by Zac Vale (23no) in an unbroken second wicket stand to seal glory at 97-1 in the 26th over.
