REGION’S and clubs have stepped up preparations for the forthcoming rugby season.
Last weekend three members of the successful COBRA club in Meifod represented Rygbi Gogledd Cymru (RGC) in a 47-7 defeat at the hands of Cardiff Blues in Rhyl.
Libby Jones, Catrin Davies and Gemma Robinson each represented the North Wales region while COBRA coach Rhodri Davies served as back row coach.
Meanwhile the RGC U18s and U16s sides took on Sale Sharks last week as part of preparations for the new season.
Elsewhere Builth Wells ended their pre-season campaign on a high note with a battling 17-15 victory at home to Specsavers Division One West side Aberystwyth at the Gro last weekend.
