BOW Street Reserves opened their Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League One campaign with a 3-0 victory over newly promoted Aberdyfi last Wednesday.

Goals from Shaun Evans, Owen Evans and Sion Manley sealed the spoils for the Magpies.

Padarn also got off to a winning start with Jason Davies, Paul James and Rich Williams goals earning a 3-1 win over Talybont who reduced the arrears through Osian Williams.

Street had to be content with a point from a 1-1 weekend draw against Padarn United with Billy Williams on target for United to cancel Neil Davies’ goal.

Bont opened their campaign with a 2-2 midweek draw against Penrhyncoch Reserves with a Trevor Jenkins double for the Bridgemen cancelled out by replies from James Fox and Jack Barron for the Roosters.

Bont were brought down to earth with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Talybont on Saturday with a Barry Southgate double and strikes from Osian Thomas and Mike Fitzpatrick cancelling Aled Parry’s riposte.

Tregaron Turfs have also opened their campaign on a high with a 5-2 victories over Llanilar and Aberdyfi.

Daniel Evans struck twice with goals from Rhun Garner, Rhodri Jones and an own goal sealing glory over Llanilar on Wednesday with replies from Guto Roberts and Ryan Hopkins.

Chris Wilkins led the Turfs to glory over Aberdyfi with a weekend brace with Garner and goals from Ifan Davies and Cledan Davies completing the scoring with Dyfi hitting back through Brandon Kent and Tim Holt.

Meanwhile Penrhyncoch Football Club has withdrawn its third string from Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League Two citing a lack of players.
