DARRYL Nicholls fired Llandrindod Wells to the top of MMP-NL Mid Wales League One with his late winner completing a 3-2 victory at Berriew.

Goals from Harry Watkins and Richard Davies proved insufficient for the hosts with Ryan Sims and Darren Murphy replying for the Spamen before Nicholls’ 40 yard free-kick found the net with five minutes remaining.

Caersws celebrated a resounding 9-1 victory at home to Aberaeron with Peter Rees starring with a five goal haul.

Further goals from Mark Edmonson, Craig Harris, Rhydian Davies and Jamie Hyne completed the rout while Liam Doherty reduced the arrears with Aeron’s consolation.

Bow Street also maintained their bright start to the season with goals from Steffan Richards, Dylan Benjamin and Llion Jenkins completing a 3-0 win at home to Llansantffraid.

Honours ended even at the Lant with Builth Wells and Llanidloes Town sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Dafydd Carruthers struck for the Daffodils with Sam Williams on target for the hosts.

Four Crosses and Carno also played out a 2-2 draw at Foxon Manor with a Ben Sims double cancelled out by replies from Richie Evans and Andy Evans for the Greens.

Luke Evans’ last gasp equaliser earned Kerry a point in a 2-2 draw at home to Montgomery Town with Max McLaughlin also on target for depleted Lambs.

Meanwhile Kevin Jones came out of retirement to play a starring role in Hay St Marys’ 1-1 draw at home to Welshpool Town.

Jones donned the No1 jersey and made a string of saves, including a penalty save to deny Ian Probert, before Dan Bowen struck to cancel Matty Tong’s strike and ensure Welshpool a share of the spoils.
