LLANRHAEADR are back at home at Tanllan for the new JD Cymru North season.

The villagers completed an emotional homecoming during the summer having spent last season as tenants in Llansantffraid.

The Tanllan pitch has been widened while the installation of a 200 seater stand and increased toilet facilities allowed the villagers to return home following a superb community effort.

Club spokesman Marc Griffiths said: “We are extremely proud of what we have achieved in upgrading our facilities.

“We are really looking forward to be playing once again in front of our home supporters. It’s great to be back home at Tanllan.”

Griffiths and coach Dan Graham will assist new player-manager Lee Green next season with former joint manager Graham Evans departing the club in the summer.

Griffiths said: “The club would like to place on record our thanks for all the work he has done while at the club and he leaves with our best wishes.”

Griffiths and Graham will continue to work toward attaining their coaching badges while Green seeks to consolidate the villager’s status in the second tier.

The former Allscott player joined last season is an up and coming manager who is looking to make his way in the game and will look to use the experience of last season as his side strive to upset the odds again in 2019/20.

Griffiths said: “After the outstanding achievement of staying up last season we are under no illusions for the season ahead.

“We will once again be underdogs in the vast majority of games.

“However we can take confidence from what we experienced last season.

“We have a great team spirit and once again we are looking forward to testing ourselves once again.

“What we are looking forward to most is playing in front of our home fans.”

Arriving at Tanllan is highly rated midfielder Matty Williams from Wrexham League side Queens Park while also adding Joe Makinson, Tom Gale and Dan Hindley to their ranks from MMP-NL Mid Wales League One side Llansantffraid.

Departing the villagers is experienced defender Glenn Evans and young prospect Dale Evans who have both joined MMP-NL Mid Wales League One side Caersws.

The club will also continue local youngsters through its successful reserve side in the Montgomeryshire League next season having won the Mitsubishi Division Two title and promotion.
