Prestatyn 4 Llanrhaeadr 2

LLANRHAEADR crashed out of the Nathaniel Cup as Prestatyn Town hit back at Bastion Garden.

The villagers led early when Iwan Matthews was clattered inside the home area with Matthew Jones converting the resulting penalty.

Llanrhaeadr soaked up the pressure for the remainder of the half with Prestatyn dominant but unable to create a breakthrough until two minutes before the break with Ian Griffiths converting Macauley Taylor’s cross.

The Seasiders doubled their lead two minutes into the second-half with Rob Hughes blasting home from distance.

The tie remained in the balance until Prestatyn sewed up victory with goals in five minutes.

Mike Parker turned home Griffiths’ glanced header on 67 minutes before a dipping cross shot from Dan Roberts added a fourth moments later.

Llanrhaeadr steadied the ship with Matthews testing home goalkeeper Ryan Roberts who was found wanting at the death when Jones completed his brace direct from a corner.
