BUILTH Wells suffered the slenderest of defeats with a one wicket loss at home to Goodrich in division one of the GB Liners Marches League.
Sam Williams joined Henry Edwards in a 66 run second wicket stand before the latter was caught and bowled by Ralph Richards (1-51).
Dylan McPhee (21) joined Williams in a 31 run third wicket partnership with Aled Powell (19) also chipping in before both fell to Jack Lewis.
Williams led the Bulls to 141-5 when he was caught by Rory Jackson off Lewis for a top scoring 49.
Lewis (7-42) tore through the Builth order with Richard Galton (15) offering tail end defiance until his side’s dismissal for 180.
Mike Williams (3-36) included opener Jackson (20) to reduce Goodrich to 45-3 in reply.
However Joe Provis joined Adam McClarty in a 58 run fourth wicket stand to guide the visitors to 103-4 when Provis was caught by Chris Roff off Edwards (1-47).
Rob Wall (3-34) swept through the middle order to reduce Goodrich to 126-7 before McClarty was run out by Edwards for a top scoring 82.
However Goodrich steadied the ship with Sam Griffiths (27no) and Richards (10no) forming an unbroken last wicket stand to steer their side to 184-9 and glory.
Meanwhile Builth Wells IIs also celebrated a 69 run victory at Canon Frome IIs in division three.
Eurig Towns (36) was joined by Gareth Sterry (19) before Ben Cripps (10no) and Arthur Davies (13no) guided Builth to 140-8 to defend.
Luke Griffiths (3-22) and Will Stephens (2-7) led the home attack.
Davies (5-20) and Martin Hurst (3-17) dominated in reply with Joshua Smith (24no) top scoring for the hosts whose skittling for 71 was completed in 21 overs.
