LLANIDLOES hosts the latest round of the ACU British Enduro Championship this weekend.

Hafren Dirt Bike Club is once again organising the event which will be based at Cae Hafren, home of Llanidloes RFC with local firm Bulk Automation headline sponsors.

A motocross special stage will be held at Mofodion near the rugby fields, offering spectacular natural jumps to keep the spectators entertained.

The enduro special stage will start and finish at Upper Cefnpenarth near Old Hall which promises to be a technical stage using some rocky forest trails and fast flowing fields.

More than 160 of the best enduro riders in the country will tackle up to three 45 mile laps of the circuit.

The entry list includes stars of the European and World Enduro Championships, including current British Championship leader Danny McCanney and brother Jamie McCanney.

Other riders who will be battling for the win will be Jack Edmondson, Dan Mundell and, Alex Snow.

Local riders include Alex Walton from Rhayader aboard his Yamaha WR 250F and Charlie Evans from Llanidloes riding his Yamaha YZ 250 with both capable of finishing in the top 10 overall.

Meanwhile Welshpool’s Joe Wootton will be making his BEC season debut aboard a Husqvarna 350 having competed for Italian based Jolly Racing Team in the World and Italian Enduro Championships.

In the Expert class, Ioan Jones from Llanidloes will be riding his Freestyle Husqvarna and be using the BEC round as preparation for riding the International Six Days Enduro in Portugal later this year as part of the Hafren Dirt bike Club team.

In the Clubman class Jason Rowlands on his PAR Homes KTM will be aiming to top the podium.

First riders will start at 9am on both days with spectator access at both special tests and admission free of charge.
