ERIC Ramsay has joined the backroom staff at English Premier League side Chelsea.
The former Llanfyllin High School student has been appointed assistant coach of the the London club's under 23s squad having further enhanced his reputation at Shrewsbury Town.
Ramsay joined the Shropshire club from Swansea City as head of coaching in 2017 before progressing to academy manager and first team coach.
Ramsay said: "I’ll leave Shrewsbury with really fond memories of a club that I have a strong affinity with but I felt it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.
"I’m excited to start at one of the most renowned academies in Europe and work with some really promising players at U23 level."
Shrewsbury Tow manager Sam Ricketts led the praise of Ramsay.
"He was a big part of what we’re trying to do here but an opportunity has come up for Eric that he feels is too good to turn down, so unfortunately as a club, we’re going to let him pursue that next step in his career," said Ricketts.
