DOMINIC Zaza’s produced a season’s best knock to inspire Alberbury to a seven wicket win at Cound.
James Bird (4-30) tore the heart out of the home order with the wicket of Farrell Waters, caught by Mark Jones for 26, with support from Tom Butler (2-43).
Myles Thomas (2-40) included the wicket of Adam Williams, caught by Butler for a top scoring 37, before Darren Moody (54no) dug in to push Cound to 183 to defend.
Zaza laid the foundations with a season’s best knock of 75 before falling to Callum Marsh (1-25) in reply.
Mike Crawshaw (18) and Mark Jones (29) offered support before Jordan Zaza (24no) and James Harrap (19) combined to form an unbroken fourth wicket stand to steer Alberbury to 187-3 and victory in the 35th over.
