PHIL Lewis was crowned Montgomeryshire Men’s Bowling Association singles winner following a 21-16 final victory over Welshpool clubmate Dan Gough at Maesydre last weekend.

Meanwhile Carno’s Huw Jones took the senior singles crown with a 21-17 final victory over Carno’s Mike Morgan

Pairs glory belonged to Newtown’s Paul Jones and Mark Jones as reward for overcoming Mark Weaver and Shaun Tulloch of Montgomery 22-19 in the final.

Newtown Bowling Club also celebrated senior pairs glory with Will James and Merfyn Jones of Newtown storming to a 21-6 final victory over Aberdovey’s Richie Williams and Gareth Lloyd.

Berriew’s Carl Pryce, Wayne Griffiths and Ben Heereman stormed to triples glory with an emphatic 23-7 final victory over Newtown’s Craig Bevan, Ryan Bevan and Chris Jones.

Berriew added the senior triples title to their trophy cabinet as Dave Richards, John Schofield and Ray Gethin pipped John Dowell, Mike Evans and Wyn Bird 19-17 in the final.

Kerry’s Guy Jones, Mat Mumford, Dominic Hardy and Steve Jones tasted fours glory with an 18-16 final victory over Berriew’s Carl Pryce, Wayne Griffiths, Graham Morris and Peter Rees.

Meanwhile Berriew lifted the senior fours silverware with Tony Croft, Dai Jones, Delwyn Gittins and John Davies prevailing 21-15 winners over Kerry’s John Dowell, Mike Evans, Tony Hall and Wyn Bird.
