NIALL Flint completed a comfortable 3-0 victory as Newtown made light work of Shrewsbury Town Under 21s at Latham Park on Saturday.

Newtown’s new array of signings impressed with George Harry’s deflected effort breaking the deadlock early on before debutant Jack Kelly doubled Town’s lead.

Former Shrewsbury youngster Flint completed the scoring from 25 yards as new look Newtown continued its unbeaten pre-season.

Elsewhere Llanfair United completed a 3-0 win at Montgomery Town with goals from Josh Astley, Alun Hughes and Ashley Davies while Caersws eased to a 4-0 win at home to Machynlleth courtesy of goals from Rhydian Davies, Elliot Jones and a Peter Rees double.

Meanwhile Carno were held to a 2-2 draw at Abermule with goals from Andy Evans and Richie Evans not enough for the visitors as Chris Ainscow and Jack Weaver netted replies.

Christian Webster struck twice with Ryan Jenkins completing Forden United’s tally in a 3-3 home draw with Church Stretton Town.

Meanwhile Harry Watkins netted a consolation in Berriew’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of a visiting Sikh Hunters while Dale Evans completed a double as Brecon Corinthians edged a 4-3 win over Cefn Cribwr with Luke Roughley and Craig Evans also on target.

Ryan Addison and Jordan McFadden struck for Rhayader Town in a 4-2 defeat at home to Abergavenny Town, now managed by ex-Red Kite Ben Bannon.

Elsewhere Penrhyncoch were well beaten at home to South Wales Championship side Afan Lido with Sean Hanbury’s hat-trick and goals from Patrick Finneral and Noah Daley completing a 5-1 win for the Port Talbot side.

Kerry proved too strong for a visiting Trewern United who hit back with goals from Russell Broadhurst and Stuart Buckley-Robins in a 5-2 defeat while Presteigne eased to a 6-2 home win over Leominster Town.

Meanwhile a Connor Stacey double and Cliffy Lawson strike earned Maesyrhandir a 3-3 draw with Llanidloes Town who replied through Jenson Jones and a Rhys Evans brace.
