MONTGOMERY tasted a six wicket defeat at home to Sentinel IIs in Henshalls Shropshire League Two.
The hosts posted an encouraging 196-6 to defend with opener Andrew Barker (44) joined by Tom Corfield (22) and Ieuan Griffiths (29) in laying solid foundations before Aaron Ruff-Cock (27), Gwynn Williams (31) and Rob Bennett (10no) led the middle order.
Paul Ackers (2-42) and Niall Salisbury (2-49) led the Sentinel attack.
Ruff-Cock (1-44) struck early in reply opener Austin Morris (1) cheaply dismissed only to bring Russell Morris to the crease.
Morris was joined by Salisbury in working the scoreboard for the second wicket until the latter was caught and bowled by Charlie Kinsey who completed his 2-25 with the wicket of Phil Caudle for a duck.
However Morris (72no) was joined by Connor Cheshire (63) for the fourth wicket with the duo pushing Sentinel toward 197-4 and victory before the latter fell to Alex Bromley (1-33).
