GUILSFIELD suffered another dent to their division six promotion bid with a 38 run home defeat to Shrewsbury IIIs.

The Guils wobbled in reply before a middle order rally as Jordan Evans (46), Dale Lewis (55) and Dave Williams (34) offered defiance.

However Wear (4-33) was joined by Henry Hornby (3-55) and Stephen Pym (2-31) in completing the end of Guilsfield’s challenge for 210 in the 34th over.

Meanwhile the Llanidloes juggernaut continued to push for the division seven title with a comfortable six wicket win at Coton Hall.

Adrian Foulkes (4-23) starred and included Connor Tinsley for a top scoring 58 in his haul while Russell Swallow (2-20) caught and bowled Alex Cadman (28).

Ioan Swallow (1-42) bowled Dan Thomas (21) before Ryan Jones (2-17) polished off the tail to complete Coton Hall’s dismissal for 135.

Ethan Owen (22) and Lewis Swallow (24) formed a solid opening wicket partnership in reply before Aiden Rich (2-11) made his presence felt.

However Llanidloes were not to be denied with Dave Moody (24no) and Dan Lewis (11no) combining in a fifth wicket stand to guide their side to 136-4 and victory.

Elsewhere Harry Bowen inspired Welshpool IIs to a thrilling two run win at Beacon IIs in division eight.

Dave Whitehouse (15) and Matt Sherwood 921) top scored before Bowen (10no) and Rupert Redway (12) guided Pool to 98 to defend.

Adam Gannon (2-24) claimed the key wicket of Luke Bedford (30) in reply before Bowen (3-9) and Sam Cadwallader and Finlay Hunter (2-17) were joined by Sam Cadwallader (1-10) in completing Beacon’s dismissal for 96.
