THE region’s rugby clubs have celebrated outstanding achievers at their end of season award nights.

Swalec Division Two West Central side Builth Wells honoured Lucas Evans with the club’s first team player of the year accolade with Aran Price the top second team player of the year and Toby Lloyd the outstanding youth player.

The clubperson of the year award was won by Chris Offa with Lauren Pugh named best supporter.

Meanwhile the largest round of applause of the night was reserved for Bod Davies who received a lifetime membership award in recognition of his half a century association with the award while Bobby Groves also received a lifetime honour for his 20 years service.

Meanwhile North Wales League Two side Llanidloes honoured its stars of the past season with Paul Jehu going home with the player of the season and top try scorer awards.

Harry Jerman landed the players’ player prize with Dale Price named the captain’s player of the year while Simon Venti was honoured with the clubperson prize.

Newtown Rugby Club also honoured its stars of the season with Jac Benyon-Thomas the player of the year and Will Richards winning the Captain’s Cup.

Jack Williams was named youth team player of the season with Rhys Morris awarded the Bob Hawthorn Cup while Kyle Rowlands was recognised as most improved.

The Brian Cakebread Clubpersons of the Year prize was awarded to Newtown Youth while Michelle Jones won the Danny Griffiths Supporter of the Year prize.
