WELSHPOOL failed to recover from a poor batting display in a five wicket defeat at Shifnal IIIs.
Ben Humphreys (2-23) was joined by Jack Home (1-2) and Sam Webster (1-20) in tearing through Pool’s top order before Russell Cadwallader and Patrick Wilding arrested the collapse.
Dan Aston (1-14) maintained pressure before Cawallader was caught by Callum Stacey off Phil Aston (2-19) for 28 to leave Wilding (36no) and Matt McWhinnie (14no) unbeaten and Pool defending 117-7.
In reply McWhinnie (2-19) included Ed Home (36) in his haul while Tom Bowen (1-22) removed opener Howard Insall, caught by James Breese for 23.
Joe Cadwallader (2-29) toppled Tom Gough (12) before Paul Gough (13no) was joined by Humphreys (19no) in steering Shifnal to 122-5 and glory in the 37th over.
