WOMEN'S football in Mid Wales has a long history.
Early trailblazing sides were known to have competed in Newtown as early as the 1950s and provide inspiration for later generations.
Often the sides were formed from factory workers during the town's heyday as the population grew post war.
This week Frank Moore of Newtown Football History published two such pictures of women's football pioneers.
The Phillips Cycle Factory Ladies team was founded in the 1950s while the BRD Ladies side was formed in 1967.
The County Times is appealing for any members of either side, or any other former women's sides from Powys, to get in touch at sport@countytimes.co.uk, contacting 01938 553354 or through social media.
