WELSHPOOL High School continues to produce top sporting talent.

Track athlete Callum Morgan, bowler Connor Buckley and Rhys Handel each represented Wales this year with the latter crowned Welsh boys judo champion.

Meanwhile Mia Kaye, Ellie Jones, Dottie Evans and Paris Schofield helped Powys to win the Welsh under 15s girls football championship.

Both the girls under 18s netball team and boys under 14s hockey sides will compete in the Welsh Finals in Swansea while the girls under 13s netball team, under 14s boys football team and under 14s boys rugby team are Powys champions.

The school contributed 21 athletes to the Powys squad for the Welsh Schools Cross Country Championship, winning the junior girls, junior boys and middle boys titles.

Meanwhile three of the school’s age groups won Welsh Sportshall titles and represented Wales at the UK Sportshall Finals in Manchester with Dottie Evans, Gwen Kuipers and Maddie Griffiths medalling.

Sion Wilde and Harvey Gill helped Powys to the semi-finals of the Welsh Schools Under 14s Cup and helped their county reach the semi-finals while Will Taylor and Lewis Wilde won RGC under 16s call-ups.
