WELSHPOOL crashed to a 76 run defeat at home to Lilleshall IIs to remain bottom of the Henshalls Shropshire League Two.

Matt McWhinnie dislodged opener Richard Barge (7) before Robert Anderson made his presence felt with the wickets of Jack Bates (17) and Edward Keenan (12).

Oli Todd led middle order resistance alongside Tom Mackriel before the latter fell to Anderson (3-18) for 26.

Todd (48) and Conor Steele (39) worked the scoreboard before both departed to McWhinnie (3-33) while Chris Proctor (1-46) bowled Rob Bagshaw (1no) to leave Charlie Conquest (4no) and Ian Dawes (2no) unbeaten and Lilleshall to defend 182-7.

Welshpool were on the ropes in reply as Conquest (2-12) made light work of opener David Whitehouse (9) and Matt Sherwood (0) while Nick Davies departed to Steele (1-16) for eight.

Dan Chodecki led resistance but Bagshaw (3-23) bowled Sean Roberts (15) and the middle order collapsed under pressure from James Williams (4-22)who included Chodecki in his hail for a top scoring 42 to complete the hosts dismissal for 106.
